Location
Located east of the A801 and west of Whitecross village, Whitecross is centred on
the site of the former Manuel Brick and Fireclay Works.
Size
Whitecross offers a 130 ha brownfield site, with a 12 ha minimum of industrial or
business land required as part of the new settlement.
Ownership
The site is owned by Morston Assets, Callendar Estates, MWL Ltd and Falkirk Council.
Development/Planning Status
Whitecross is zoned as a Strategic Initiative for Residential Regeneration within
the Falkirk Local Development Plan, which promotes a strategic housing allocation
and regeneration initiative.
Available Financial Assistance
The site is located in an area in which eligible projects may attract 15%-35% Regional
Selective Assistance funding. Further information on eligibility of RSA funding
support can be provided.
TIF Supported Enabling Works
A new site access to the A803 has recently been formed, and the developer has agreed
a Section 75 cost for signalisation-related works to Junction 4.
Local Network Infrastructure
Given its location, access to Whitecross is challenging, however, the masterplan
promotes a new access from the west connected to the A801. The developer has been
asked to make Section 75 contributions to Junction 4 upgrading. Agreement on access
rights are also required for connections to the A801.
Access
Internal access is via an extended connector street from the A801 through to the
existing Whitecross Village and connecting to the A803 via the Haining Road and
B825.
